July, 17th Wedding day on the road
After only one day in Tana, we parted for the western coast of Madagascar heading towards Morondava in the Menabe region. The only way to make it in time was by hiring a four-wheel drive with a chauffeur. It is not recommended to drive on your own in this country because of the bumpy roads and the inhabitants´ crazy way of driving. We hired a car from Transma Company and our chauffeur,Lucien was a very serious but very nice and helpful middle-aged man. Thanks to my friend Nathalie we paid the malagasy price for the car, which is still quite some money: 40 euros/ day. At least, we were sure to arrive on time at Morondava. Departure 5.15am at Tana, arrival around 5 pm
It only took 10 hours with a one and half hour lunch at Miandrivazo.
