The Children of Soarano - July 21st,2011
Who is that lovely boy ? I met him when we crossed the Tsibirihina river on a boat that was hired especially for our company. After a two-and-a half hour trip we landed on a peninsula called Soarano and visited this wonderful little fishermen´s village. As always in Madagascar, lots of children running everywhere and calling you Vazaha. And this little fellow, whom I forgot the name, followed us all the time. He was so incredibly cute and funny and sang very nice.
Here the village of Soarano
Before we left the village, we gave them candies and even Daim candies coming directly from Sweden. But the problem was that they had no idea how to take off the plastic from the candy, so I had to help them. Otherwise, they would have eaten up the paper ! That´s the great thing about Malagasy children. They are genuinely nice, they never complain and they always smile. And if a crazy Vazaha makes a fool of himself they just burst into laughter.
Here again my "chouchou" holding his goodies like trophies
